Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
PushLock counts your push-ups with the front camera and locks the apps you choose until you earn time to use them. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. This policy explains what the app handles and where it goes.
Camera
During a workout PushLock reads frames from the front camera to find your face and count push-ups. Frames are processed on your iPhone as they arrive and then discarded. PushLock does not record, store or upload any photo or video.
Motion sensors
While you work out, PushLock reads the phone's motion sensors to check that the phone lies still on the floor. These readings stay on your iPhone and are not stored.
Screen Time and locked apps
App locking uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings). You choose apps, categories or websites in Apple's own picker. PushLock only receives opaque tokens from Apple, so it cannot see the names of the apps you pick or what you do in them. Usage of locked apps is measured by iOS on your iPhone and PushLock only learns when a time limit is reached.
Workouts and settings
Your push-up history, daily goal, earned time and settings are stored only on your iPhone. They are not sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Notifications
PushLock shows local notifications, for example when you tap a locked app or your earned time is running out. They are created on your iPhone; PushLock does not use push notifications.
Diagnostics
To find crashes and slow screens, PushLock sends diagnostic data to EAS Observe, a service of Expo (650 Industries, Inc.): how long the app and its screens take to load, error reports, the device model, iOS version, language, app version and a random identifier created for this installation. This data is not linked to your identity, contains no workout, camera or Screen Time data, and is used only to fix and improve the app.
App updates
PushLock checks Expo's update service for new versions of the app. The request includes the app version, platform and a random installation identifier, and is used only to deliver the right update.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Children
PushLock is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
